They have CHANGED the recipe and this is now BARELY 50% meat and the rest is PEAS. They claimed the only change was the packaging! This is the old ingredients list Dry Chicken (48%), dry lamb (20%), dry potato(15%), chicken mince (12%), beet pulp, chicken gravy, salmon oil, vitamins and minerals. NEW LIST Chicken 40,5% (chicken meal 37% freshly prepared chicken 3.5%), Dried Peas, Poultry fat 8%, Lamb meal 4%, vitamins and minerals, beet pulp, brewer's yeast, poultry gravy 1,5%, egg powder, salmon oil. The chicken is a worse and cheaper type, not as nutritional as the previous one (chicken meal is cheaper). it now contains PEAS instead of POTATOES. This WILL cause your cat to have diarrhea (transitioning to a new type of ingredients should be done carefully over time so as not to risk adverse reactions such as allergy symptoms, and gastrointestinal issues.) Cat parents should be aware that their loves ones could also have allergic reactions to the PEAS.. Mine is sensitive to peas and will have a very bad reaction to it. The salmon oil content has been cut in half, the amount of taurine is now a measly 1000mg instead of 2000mg. This will also cause problems for your furry friend, taurine is CRITICAL to their health. This is not a good amount, it should be 1500-2500mg for a good product. In conclusion, APPLAWS has now become a second rank manufacturer. I do not recommend this dry food if you are looking for quality - there is none to be found here. It's such a shame too, they used to make really good products, and now I can no longer buy this for my cats. I'm angry and disappointed that they are not putting an advertisement on the package that says "NEW FORMULA". I'm also reporting the information listed here on amazon as it is now false. BTW this has happened to all their dry food and their wet food.
