300€ is a scam - 150€ would be fair.

I had high hopes for this headset — after all, HyperX is a well-known gamer brand, not premium luxury but usually solid in terms of price-to-performance. I own (or bought) the wired version before, and it was decent. So when this new wireless version came out, I expected something good. What’s good: Build quality is okay. In comparison to Cloud 3S, the headband feels about the same quality. The idea of a wireless HyperX headset with a small base station is compelling and sounds like a cool feature. What’s terrible: I paid €300 and got software that seems to be in beta — the HyperX software (called NGENUITY) is full of bugs and hardly usable. The firmware updater wasn't really working aswell. I can’t reliably save EQ profiles; there’s zero clarity on what each EQ setting actually does. There is no feedback to the user. When I wear the headset, it mutes itself so much that I barely hear my own voice — it’s creepy and uncomfortable. Even turning on mic-monitoring gives only a faint echo of myself. It’s absurd. The microphone quality itself was very poor. The sound was underwhelming, especially for gaming (which is what this is supposedly for). The app/software caused additional sound issues. For €300, this is a scam. At best, this headset is worth €130–150 (comparable to Cloud 3S wireless). The base station feature is not enough to justify such a price, especially when you get almost zero control or insight into the sound settings. Conclusion & recommendation: This was the worst purchase I’ve made in a long time. I’m returning it immediately. Don’t fall for the hype — for €300, this is trash. Give me the wired or more modest wireless headsets any day. One star.
